Hi Angela -- That's a very good idea. Common sense (and I think a little bit of research) suggests that full spectrum lighting for regular use will help if you are under it for several hours. We are doing this in my house also. I'm using full spectrum compact fluorescent bulbs so I can save energy as well. Figure a regular compact fluorescent uses 16-17 watts of energy and outputs 60 watts worth of incandescent bulb light. A full spectrum compact fluorescent bulb uses 27 watts for 60 watts worth of incandescent bulb light.

I'll see if I can dig up the full spectrum compact fluorescent bulb online sources I buy from -- they are harder to find in stores.

You might still want to grab a light therapy box to make sure you get enough light. The model I pictured is $150 or less on eBay right now.

I just bought the full spectrum tubes to replace the overhead lighting in my office at work too.

Thanks,
Michael

They sell full spectrum light bulbs in all the usual places, targer, walmart etc...I've simply replaced my regular light bulbs with them in my lamps at home. A very cost effective option for those on a tight budget. Works great and I go to the work in the dark work in a dungeon and come home in the dark so I can go weeks at a time and not see acutal sun specailly if it's a rainy, cloudy or snowy winter, so believe me, I feel it. And yes when able my favorite lunch time activity is sunbathing.
